What is your name and what character do you play in the show?
   

Ann Harada, and i play Christmas Eve, as you well know, Clover (the yellow bear) or Esteban (the blue bear).

 
 
Where were you born?
   
I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii.
 
 
Where were you raised?
   
...and raised outside of Honolulu in a city called Kaneohe, HI
 
 
Where do you live now?
   
Upper west side of NYC.
 
 
What were you doing immediately before you were cast in Avenue Q?
   
Well, since i can't really remember what year that was...1999 or 2000 was the first reading i did...i'm going to say The Seussical workshop. Eric Idle was the Cat in the Hat.
 
 
Do you have a favorite backstage story that you'd like to share with Avenue Q fans?
   

I don't think they can handle the truth :)

 
 
How has the Avenue Q experience changed your life?
   

Well, as my husband likes to say, now i'm a household name, if your household happens to be on West 45th street.

 
 
Why do you think Avenue Q is such an overwhelming success?
   

Puppets are able to speak the truth.

 
 
How do you handle the demanding 8 show a week performance schedule?
   
Therapy.
 
 
What do you do to keep in shape for the show?
   
hahaha. Eat potato chips and dip?
 
 
What is your favorite part of the show to perform?
   
The last scene -- it is always a minefield of trying not to laugh.
 
 
Where did you attend school? High School? College?
   

I graduated from Brown University, and attended Punahou School in Honolulu.

   
   
What are your hobbies and interests off stage?
   

My newish baby rules my world. i haven't seen a movie in months. I used to read a lot of books. Now i shop on the internet. it's really really great. I got a fast connection so
I don't have to wait.

 
 
Do you have any special skills?  (i.e. sports, cooking, juggling)
   

Not that I can prove. I'm a great speller, and i make change really well.

 
 
Do you support any charitable activities/causes? If so, what are they?
   

BC/EFA, Heifer International

 
 
Have you ever been asked to sing the national anthem at a sporting event?  If so, what was that experience like for you?
   

When i did a production of South Pacific in Birmingham, MI way back in the early nineties, the cast got to sing at Tiger Stadium. i loved it. i'd sing the anthem anywhere they asked me to.

 
 
Do you speak a foreign language and would you be comfortable performing Avenue Q in that language?
   

No, and no, unless you count pig Latin.

 
 
If Avenue Q does a world tour, what top three cities would you like to play?
   

Honolulu, Tokyo, London.
